NSS Unit of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana celebrated World Physiotherapy Day on 8th September, 2016 in collaboration with Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital, Ludhiana with the objective of creating awareness about physiotherapy. An extension lecture was organized at which distinguished Physiotherapists Dr. Monika Sharma & Dr. Shaminder Kaur presented their views on physical therapy, scope of practice and their role in cardiovascular disease and obesity, caring for older people and spinal cord injuries. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal welcomed the gathering and said that Physiotherapists have a key role in helping people with long term conditions achieve their goals, fullfill their potential and participate fully in society. Dr. Shaminder Kaur spoke on empowering the specially abled people and giving them an opportunity in life, thus promoting fitness for all. A team from Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital gave free consultation and assessment to the students.
